Homeowners, property owners, and property managers need objective and accurate information when prioritizing tree maintenance to reduce liability in a cost effective manner. Every standing tree poses some element of risk and there are many factors that must be considered when assessing trees for risk.
Tree Risk Assessment is the systematic process arborists use to analyze and identify risk associated with trees. It is a combination of categorizing the likelihood of a tree failure and the consequences of a tree failure. Not every arborist is qualified to perform this task.
Andrew Mertz has been conducting tree risk assessment for almost 10 years and holds the ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ).
